About this tour
Jabel Akhdar ) is part of the (“Green Mountain”) meaning Al Hajar Mountains range in Oman, which extends about 300 km (186 miles) northwest to southeast, between 50–100 km (31–62 miles) inland from the Gulf of Oman coast. It is one of Oman’s most spectacular areas. It is the highest point in Oman and the whole of eastern Arabia and is located around 150 km (93 miles) from Muscat.
Itinerary
- The tour leaves from Muscat to Nizwa which was the Capital of Oman we’ll visit the famous Nizwa Market (souq) & Nizwa Fort
- Then drive to the oasis of Birkat al Mouz
- Jebel Akhdar is reached by a 35 km road that spirals around the hills, visiting Grand Canyon
- The little gardens in the villages grow several varieties of fruits like pomegranates, apricot, lemon and walnuts which gave the plateau a distinctive array of colours and scents. There are many interesting walks in Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejaya and Aqur. The weather here is cool and dry.
